Adventures of a Novelty Fabric and Selvage Obsessed Quilter

Glad you stopped by!

I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

I'm baaaack, Hope you haven't forgotten me!

Well, it's been nearly two years since I last posted. Alot has gone on, unfortunately not a lot of quilting. Not that I haven't wanted to; in fact I have three projects waiting for me.  A baby quilt, a t shirt quilt for my son,  and a French braid wall hanging for my brother and sister in law. All the fabric is is here waiting for me. I just haven't been motivated.
What I haven't shared with you is that I have MS. I had my first symptom when my kids were in third grade. I have been  "lucky" to have had exacerbations every three years or so , always correcting themselves. Then in June of 2011,  I developed something called a nystagmus in my right eye, which was making my eye bounce. You couldn't detect it by looking at me. I thought it was getting better, but in March of 2012, it was bad. Thankfully in August of 2012, I saw a neuro ophthalmologist who prescribed a medication that after the first dose, I knew I was saved! It was like a miracle! Everything I had read up until that point never mentioned medicine.
Then, in November of 2013, I had an exacerbation that changed everything. Up until that point, I really had no outward signs that I had MS. After this exacerbation, it affected me from my waist to my toes. I have something called an MS hug.  My balance has been affected as well as my ability to stand in one place for any length of time. So, that's what's been going on with me. I want to start quilting again!! I feel like I'm ready to get back into it. I've really missed it. I have to say that through this journey, my husband and kids have been amazing! I'd love to hear from you, I've missed that!
