I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

Laura's bag!

My niece Laura recently completed her coursework
for a Masters degree in Education.
She hopes to find a job as an English teacher
at the High School level.
When I first saw this fabric,
I knew I had to make her something from it.
It is oversized, to accomodate her laptop!

I used the coordinating black fabric for the bottom,
as well as for an insert to make the bottom more sturdy

    What a gorgeous bag!... and the fabric is fantastic. Is the bag a commercial pattern? or one you have invented? I love making bags and this one looks so great.

    Great bag - I have a lot of that fabric and just haven't been able to use it yet. I just can't cut into it.
