Adventures of a Novelty Fabric and Selvage Obsessed Quilter

Glad you stopped by!

I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

Big Board information sought!

While away, I saw some
Big Board toppers
for ironing boards for sale.
My DH is going to make me one,
and I've been researching
options on the internet.
I am planning to make one
that is 24 x 60 inches,
and will use insul bright,
batting and cotton or muslin
for the cover.

Have you made one, and if so
do you have any tips??

Hopefully, we will get it put together
by this timw next week!

  1. I helped a friend make one. We turned the ironing board upside down after cutting the wood the size we wanted and used 1x1 pieces of wood nailed to the board around the shape of the ironing board. Does that make sense???? That way it fits on top of the ironing board without slidding around.
