Adventures of a Novelty Fabric and Selvage Obsessed Quilter

Glad you stopped by!

I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

Our next stop..

was Obie's.
stuff everywhere. Very claustrophobic
to both me and Rachelle.
Even I couldn't shop there!
We got the heck out of dodge!

  1. It makes Stitch and Sew look organized.

  2. Once you become used to the "ambience" of Obie's, there are some interesting finds there. If you are looking for a special fabric that is no longer produced, chances are good that you will find it at Obie's. Just ask the owner. She knows exactly what she has and where to find it. Obie's is also a great place to find quality, handquilted quilts at very reasonable prices.

Did you have a chance to go to the Goodville Fabric Outlet across the road from Obie's? Lots of great stuff there at unbelievable prices. Unlike Obie's, it is well organized and brightly lit. I have some more pictures from Obie's on my blog. http://stashslashproject.blogspot.com/2012/03/trip-to-obies.html
