Adventures of a Novelty Fabric and Selvage Obsessed Quilter

Glad you stopped by!

I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

Sophie's quilt completed!!

I blogged about this quilt back in April.

I needed to machine quilt and bind it,
but I was waiting to get my Sew Steady
extension table.

I quilted it about a week ago, then realized
I was short on the brown fabric
I wanted to use for binding.
I had originally bought it in Lancaster, PA.

A quick internet search and I discovered
had it in stock, and we could easily stop there
on our way home from the Philadelphia airport.

I called, and they set aside what I needed.
I stopped in Saturday, and discovered
that it was a terrific bustling shop, with
a great selection and helpful staff.

I will be bringing it tomorrow,
when I have lunch with Sophie's mom, my cousin Lisa!

  1. Oh, Jill. What a stunning presentation that is with the ribbon tied around the gorgeous quilt. I've never seen that, but now I will always add ribbon when I give a quilt to someone. Thanks for the great idea.

I'd like to share that idea on my blog.
