I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

A start on the selvage chair!

A look at what I "auditioned" today
First, I traced the seat of the chair using muslin and a sharpie:
Then I cut batting to fit the seat as well:
As you saw above, I auditioned some selvages.
Nothing is pinned down yet. I also need to sew some
shorter strips together before I can really make decisions :)
I'm happy it has begun.

    It's always a great feeling to have begun a new project, rather then just thinking about it. I love the idea of using selvages...
