I will try spray basting, just not this time.
Instead, I have pinned it very well.
On the advice of Susan at Mouse Creek,
I bought a pair of gardening gloves with grippers
which she says will help me control the fabric better!
I have never machine quilted anything larger
than a wall hanging, so wish me luck!
I truly appreciate all the great advice
that was left for me!
Spray basting is the ticket Jill, I do not ever want to pin again unless I have no other choice- it is just so much easier. I have spray basted many quilts - mostly queen sized ones..
ReplyDeleteI know a number of people who swear by the gloves- I hope that they work out well for you.
Happy quilting .
Warmest regards,
Anna
If your gloves prove to be too loose, you can get some that are made for machine quilters called: "Machingers." I like them. They're snug and give you a good grip. Not to say that you are losing your grip!
ReplyDeleteHave fun and tell us how it goes.
Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteYou can also try office fingers on your finger tips - I found that gloves got hot for me - Good Luck! let us know if they work for you.
