Adventures of a Novelty Fabric and Selvage Obsessed Quilter

Glad you stopped by!

I am a busy wife and the mom of 19 year old twins, a boy and a girl who are Sophomores at Syracuse University.

I have been quilting since the spring of 2008. I love novelty fabrics, colorful and unique.

Selvage quilting is addictive! Who knew the "junk" we cut off and threw out would be what I now save! I started a new tradition when I travel--visiting quilt stores! I particularly enjoy going to stores that have been named in the Quilt Sampler Featured Shop Lists-

Next stop- Old Country Store

Old Country Store
3510 Old Philadelphia Pike
Intercourse, PA
Imagine, if you will, about 200
people crammed into this space!
This store was packed!
So much so that I left empty handed!
Unbelievable, I know!
Very nice selection, but just too hectic
to do any serious damage!

We walked around the village of Intercourse ,
through some very cute shops.
We stopped at Immergut Soft Pretzels.
Outstanding pretzels!

  1. I don't enjoy shopping with crowding and confusion either. It looks like a good place to go back and visit later.

  2. I did the same thing a few weeks ago when we went to the Trenton Quilt show. The quilt shop was so packed you could not breathe. We left empty handed.

  3. Beautiful place! Nice to get a private visit, wouldn't it be?
    Ah, Lancaster...I loved living there!

  4. I have been in that store many times...it is no fun at all to try to squeeze through people. Often times I found myself waiting on the bench in the front of the store waiting for the people I was with. We completely skipped this store this year during the quilt show.
